Recognizing toxicity and abuse within our families isn't always easy, especially when it's deeply ingrained in our culture. It's often simpler to spot these issues in others' families than in our own. But it's crucial to develop the eyes to see the harm, even if it's normalized.
As disciples of Christ, we must confront the cultural practices that perpetuate harm, whether it's emotional, spiritual, or otherwise. It's a challenging journey, particularly when our communities may not yet acknowledge these issues.
We need to support each other as we navigate this path of awareness and transformation. Harmful cycles need to be broken so that we can honor the dignity of every individual.
